This prototype board implements several programming methods: the most common way is to use a specialized programmer such as J-Link or ST-Link via the JTAG interface. This method allows not only programming the microcontroller, but also, most importantly, debugging the developed application. A kind of JTAG interface is the SWD interface, it also requires a specialized programmer, which was mentioned above. It also allows you to debug your application in real time on a real microcontroller. But usually beginners cannot afford a specialized JTAG debugger programmer. Especially for them, this board implements a simple way of programming the microcontroller - using a simple serial interface USART. Because Since modern computers sometimes lack a COM port, this board implements a simple and extremely friendly implementation of a way out of this situation: the board has an additional USB port through which you can program the microcontroller for those who cannot afford to purchase a normal programmer. But that's not all - the package includes two USB cables, i.e. one can be used for its intended purpose, and through the second (based on the USB-COM PL2303 bridge), you can implement the output of some debugging information. This is especially valuable when developing an operating system based project. After all, it's not a secret for anyone that an ARM controller is not a simple PIC or AVR. This is already a serious device and a simple operating system with several tasks can run on it without problems. And debugging a task in the operating system is much more difficult than some simple application. Even a JTAG debugger programmer may not help here. Therefore, the presence of an additional USB port on the board is a rarity.
The board supports several types of memory: the first is a simple 24C02 EEPROM, it can store application configuration data or some kind of calibration information. The second - W25x16 - is a more mature solution: 16Mbit SPI memory, here you can already store something more serious and valuable, for example, load your own fonts or symbols for the LCD indicator. The third memory is the connection of removable memory cards such as SD/MMC. It all depends on the imagination and desire of the developer himself.
For communication with the outside world, you can use an additionally purchased 2.400 - 2.4835 GHz radio module such as NRF24L01 or JF24C.
This module has 126 channels. The transmission speed can be up to 2 Mbps. This is quite enough for organizing a small network, for example, a sensor network, while the board itself can be used as a network master. This module is purchased separately and is not included in the package.
This board has the ability to connect OLED or LCD modules. For LCD modules, the screen size can be 2.4 or 2.8 inches, and they are equipped with a touch screen. This allows you to organize a rather complex user interface. At the same time, the delivery set includes a demo version of uC OS with a GUI interface. This board can be used not only to study how to work on the STM32F103RBT6, but also used in the final product, for example, as an access point for a smart home. At the same time, the delivery set already includes an LCD indicator with a touch screen.
The board uses an HS0038 infrared sensor, which allows control via an infrared remote control.
